"Let’s enjoy LES global networking together."
Masau TAKAYANAGI
President, LES Japan
LES Japan is an organization for licensing professionals which was established in 1972 as a member society of the Licensing Executive Society International (LES International), which has 32 national/regional societies and more than 11,000 members worldwide. LES Japan is one of the largest member societies of LES International, having more than 650 members out of which approximately 360 (55%) are executives and managers dealing with intellectual property or licensing in various industries, and approximately 215 (33%) are attorneys or experts as a private practitioner. This well-balanced ratio of its members provides you with an interesting and useful network.
Members can join an annual meeting of LES Japan (this year is scheduled to be held in Hida-Takayama on June 6 and 7, 2008) and participate in LES International and national annual conferences which can give you interesting lectures and practical workshops. In January 2008 the LESJ International Symposium was held under the auspices of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Speakers were from METI, LES US/Canada, LES Germany and LES China. The Symposium turned out to be a great success, having more than 125 participants.
LES Japan provides you with a wonderful learning opportunity through seminars held monthly in Tokyo and Osaka. On top of that, there are many working groups for studying and networking. Furthermore, we have been developing programs to allow younger generations to play a more active role in both domestic and international business. We believe that the benefits of these various LES events are not only learning opportunities in licensing but also significant enhancement of your networks. The more active you are in participating, the more you will enjoy Licensing Society life.
We encourage anyone who has an interest in licensing or developing business opportunities to join us and enjoy taking part in our activities as we work towards building a more attractive society.
